PURPOSE: To address the special difficulties faced by victims of crime by providing support and information.
SERVICES:
  • Informing the victim of the case status
  • Notification of upcoming hearings and subsequent dispositions
  • Information and education about court procedures
  • Accompaniment to court and provision of safe waiting area
  • Assistance with victim compensation and restitution
  • Assistance with victim impact statement preparation
  • Referral to social service agencies
  • Employee intercession
  • Arranging for prompt return of property
  • Set up Victim Impact panel that DUI offenders are sentenced to attend
Arrange for interpreters for non-English speaking defendants, victims, and witnesses
