The SVIC is comprised of local early intervention stakeholders. (Early Intervention
(EI) is the state-funded system of services available to children Birth-to-Three who have developmental delays or disabilities.) The purpose of the group is to disseminate information from the state system to the local level and to provide a forum to share local concerns with the lead agency. The
SVIC has several key functions:
- The SVIC conducts local needs assessments, identifies service gaps, and identifies local resources to fill those gaps.
- The SVIC works with local service providers to develop collaborative agreements with local school districts to conduct Child Find activities and facilitate transitions from the Part C
EI System to the community and/or the public school system.
- The SVIC develops and implements strategies for Public Awareness and Child Find.
